An old cypress avenue brings you to the barn guesthouse at Il Viottolone, set at an altitude of 300 metres in charming gardens amidst olive groves with far reaching views. It offers guests secluded, rustic elegance in the tuscan hills.
Positioned in the heart of Tuscany; for travellers seeking a rural setting with easy access to the renaissance city of Florence and Siena as well as the many important cities and treasures of Tuscany, Il Viottolone is the perfect choice.
Traditional wooden beams, terracotta floor tiles and original exposed walls give the old barn its originality whist providing a spacious, happy and rustically luxurious resting place. The owners who live in the farmhouse adjacent, are usually on hand and happy to help make your holiday special.

On the ground floor, the main living area is open plan. There are large comfortable sofas, a wood burning stove and a dining area which opens onto its own private west facing garden with lemon trees and shaded eating overlooking the valley and beyond.
The kitchen is well equipped and aims to offer everything for cooks and diners to enjoy all manner of tuscan feasts. You will find a dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven, extractor fan, large fridge/freezer, kettle, mixer, blender, good quality knives, a plethora of good saucepans etc plus full set of white china, glasses and cutlery for 8.
Upstairs you can relax in the library area where there is a variety of english and Italian reading material and guide books, a desk and comfortable lounger chairs for enjoying the morning sun overlooking the private courtyard garden that sits between the barn and the main house.

On the top floor, the master bedroom is quiet, elegant and comfortable, with breathtaking views to the north west countryside beyond. There is plenty of storage space within the double wardrobe. The en-suite bathroom with traditional wooden beams has modern features including a power shower.

On the floor below the twin bedroom is fresh and comfortable with beautiful views. Its modern private bathroom has a bath and standing shower.

There is a small extra bedroom next to the master bedroom, useful for children or as a small double.

The property sit in approximately 10 acres of garden, kitchen gardens, olive groves and fields surrounded by beautiful oak woodlands.
Apart from enjoying the immediate gardens surrounding the barn, which are private and with stunning views, there are many lovely places to sit, wander or picnic in the grounds or nearby.
Excellent local walks are plentiful and straight from the door.
Vegetables are usually available from our kitchen garden which we are delighted to share with you.

Gated parking, wi-fi internet access, bose speaker system with i pod, italian sky tv with many international programmes and films in english, underfloor central heating, wood burning stove, abundant hot water, washing machine, iron, hairdryer.
Beds are made up for you prior to arrival with white linen, towels are provided.
Linen is changed once a week or more often upon request.
Plentiful breakfast ingredients are provided for the first morning along with basic larder necessities.
